Whether we are aware of it or not, we are constantly making up stories about ourselves and the world around us. These stories have a HUGE impact on our experience. There’s a model that helps to understand how this works – it’s called the Ladder of Inference.
The Ladder of Inference is a “story-generating machine” and it’s always on. Just becoming more self-aware of how this ladder shapes your reality can be really powerful. Yes, I said, “your reality.” While it may be difficult to process this big thought, I encourage you to ponder the idea that reality is not objective as many of us think. Reality is subjective.
